With background in journalism, I first picked up a camera to shoot photos for an article I was writing. Since then, I've been carrying a camera with me wherever I go. 

Growing up surrounded by the redwoods and a vibrant artist community taught me a lot about composition and color.

It was while working as a reporter in the Middle East that I fully realized the power of a great photo. Witnessing humanity in moments, both tragic and heartwarming, left me with a desire to preserve the most important events of people's lives.
